HEALTHY MISA WOMEN BENEFIT
Awareness, prevention and early detection is key in the fight against cancer. From 1 January 2025 the Union increased the Healthy MISA Women Benefit to six hundred members to motivate even more of the Union’s female members to do a mammogram or pap smear annually.
“According to a report by the National Cancer Registry of the Department of Health, and the Stats SA’s mortality and causes of death data, female cancer-related deaths increased to 51.2% with Cervix cancer (17.9%) and Breast Cancer (17%) being the highest contributors,” says Keyter. The last date for the submission of claims for 2023 was 29 March 2023.
